The CETC assembled five experts on innovative materials, processes and designs to give you a glimpse of construction's greener future:

Nicole and Richard are going to speak about innovative technologies driving the A14 construction project, among them the autonomous dump truck trialled by Blackwell and Highways England on their earthworks contract for A14 improvement near Cambridge.

"Low carbon and future proofing house building and affordable housing"
Modcell designs and fabricates structural panels from straw and timber that allow construction of super-insulated, high-performance, low energy ‘passive’ buildings on a genuinely industrial scale. Their technology is currently being used in straw-bale eco housing, commercial and public buildings throughout the UK.

Polysolar is a Cambridge based developer and producer of innovative, low-cost, solar photovoltaic glass for the architectural market. Polysolar uses thin-film PV technology to manufacture BIPV solar glass. The material is suited to building integrated solutions, enabling the production of transparent or opaque solar PV panels, applicable in façades, canopies, skylights or curtain walls.
