Message from the CETC Chair – event arrangements under COVID-19

Dear CETC Members and Visitors,

given the current public health crisis, it it unlikely that the type of networking seminar we usually enjoy will be possible in the next few months. Until such time as we can convene physical meetings again responsibly, the CETC will be going virtual. Since other local networks are in the same position - not to mention the University -  rather than fill all our webinar diaries with many more individual events, we have decided to join forces and hold some events under a code- and speaker share arrangement.

It is my pleasure to announce a new virtual event series "The Digital (Dis) Comfort Zone", in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, Cambridge Wireless and the Cambridge Network.

There will be two webinars each month throughout the summer, in which speakers from academia as well as from the business, policy and civil society worlds, will help us explore the many ways in which the digital world is impacting the way we live and work and the risks that we take.

Each webinar involves an informal talk of 15 mins each by two speakers, followed by the opportunity to ask questions and to network in breakout rooms. The webinars will initially take place on Zoom and will NOT be recorded. They are planned as a way to help you connect with other people who share your same interest in the digital world, so just bring a glass of any drink you like and enjoy an informative as well as refreshing digital happy hour!

The series is formally convened by the Trust & Technology Initiative and the Judge Business School and is open to members of the CETC, Cambridge Wireless and the Cambridge Network.
