Speakers:

> Dr. Chris Smith, consultant virologist, founder of the Naked Scientist podcast and Fellow of Queen's College, Cambridge

Dr Smith is a scientist and broadcaster based in Cambridge. Alongside his work as a Virologist at Addenbrokes Hospital he lectures at the University of Cambridge and presents the Naked Scientist podcast and radio shows online, on the BBC and on ABC (Australia). Throughout the current Coronavirus outbreak he has been called upon as a subject-matter expert by the media and Government.

> Dr Freya Jephcott, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Fellow of Queen's College, Cambridge

Dr Jephcott is an expert in pandemic outbreak surveillance and response systems, particularly those in Sub-Saharan Africa, at the intersection of medical anthropology and applied epidemiology. In addition to her work at the University she occasionally works as a Manager of Epidemiological Activities for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) performing outbreak investigations. She is also a consultant on the strengthening of global health systems for the World Health Organization (WHO).

> Dr Flavio Toxvaerd, Department of Economics and Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge

Dr Toxvaerd is an Economist at the University of Cambridge. He published 'The Economics of Vaccination' in 2014 and maintains a research focus on the optimal control of infectious diseases (working paper 2015). In February 2019 he facilitated The International Monetary Fund (IMF) Antimicrobial Resistance and Pandemics Symposium, held in Washington DC.

> Dr Peter Buchan, Clinical Pharmacologist and Independent Drug Development Consultant.

Since his PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Edinburgh Dr Buchan has worked within drug development businesses in C-Level roles. He is a clinical pharmacologist with deep knowledge of disease impact modelling. He has monitored the Italian and U.K. responses to COVID19 carefully and is involved in clinical trials of relevant antivirals.
